As for me, there isn’t much else that makes a house a home than the presence of beautiful quilts, old quilts, new quilts, lap quilts, nap quilts, baby quilts, wall quilts, and bed quilts. There’s just something about them that makes any house a place of comfort.

From an early age, I was fascinated with Quilts, especially how they were made, and that is why, about 30 years ago, I made my first quilt. It was made with lots of mistakes and seams not matching correctly, but I was proud of the end result nevertheless. I had made my first ever quilt. That quilt was for my daughter, Kim, and had a heart in every quilt block. I don’t know if she even still has that quilt, but I do recall the feeling I had making it for her. It was a wonderful feeling of accomplishment and love in every stitch.

Love in Every Stitch

This is what has brought me to this place in my life where I am surrounded by beautiful quilts. These are quilts that I have made over the years, quilts I have purchased from handmade creative quilters online, and quilts I have purchased from local craft shops. I love them all, they give me a sense of “home.”

We stitch together quilts of meaning to keep us warm and safe, with whatever patches of beauty and utility we have on hand.
